Membership Meeting & Election Day

  • Arts Resource Centre Oshawa Canada (map)

Join us for our member’s monthly meeting where we catch up on the latest art news and enjoy a demo from a local artist.

This meeting will commence with our Annual Elections for OAA Board of Directors and Officers. All OAA members are invited to vote and have a voice in the future development of the OAA. Please review the Official Election Notice from OAA President Mary Gartlan for details.

This month, our guest speaker is Kim-Lee Kho with a talk on “Layered Thinking: Multidisciplinary and Mixed Media Approaches”.

Multidisciplinary artist Kim-Lee Kho will share her recent solo exhibition Heartspace, a wide-ranging installation exploring the human heart, which featured large and small scale work, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and mixed media along with giant photo-digital image transfers on handmade scrolls. She will also demonstrate some of her favourite mixed media approaches, working on paper to create a small artist’s book. Biography Kim-Lee Kho is a multidisciplinary artist, and former designer. Coming from a family combining scientists and artists has influenced both her interests and work processes. She has participated nationally in exhibitions, residencies, and mentorships. In 2016 and 2018 she was a feature artist in Mississauga’s In Situ multi-arts festivals, with multimedia installations and live performances. Kho had two major solo exhibitions in Toronto in 2019, including Heartspace, her debut as a member of The Red Head Gallery at the 401 Richmond arts hub downtown. A popular and knowledgeable arts instructor, she teaches at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke, Haliburton School of Art+Design, while also teaching, giving talks, critiques, demonstrations, and jurying exhibitions, at the invitation of art groups in Ontario. www.kimleekho.ca
